Pork Goulash

An originally Hungarian dish, often prepared with beef, goulash deserves your culinary attention. Let’s try the pork version, which is rather tasty too.

Necessary products:

  • 2 pounds (1 kg) of pork
  • ВЅ cup of lard
  • 3 onions
  • salt
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • ВЅ teaspoon of caraway seeds
  • 1 glass of red wine
  • 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 1 cup of yogurt

Makes: 7-8 servings

How to prepare: Cut the pork into bite-size chunks and stew it in lard together with the onions diced into tiny pieces until the onion melts down and has almost evaporated. Add some salt, paprika and the mortared caraway seeds; then pour hot water in so that the meet is entirely poured on and boil it until the meat has softened.

It’s time for the wine and the vinegar. Now that you have added them, boil for 10 more minutes. Finally, stir up the yogurt and pour it in the stew until it starts boiling, but don’t let it boil for more than a minute.

Serve with macaroni, mashed potatoes, potato puree, or toasts.
