Simple steamed spinach

Do you remember the comic character Popeye the Sailor, who gets hyper tough eating spinach? The following recipe won’t give you superhuman strength but it is easy to make and definitely very delicious. Here’s what you need:

  • 1 pound (500 g) spinach
  • 5 oz (150 g) walnuts
  • 5 oz (150 g) pine nuts
  • salt
  • soy sauce
  • liquid aminos

Wash the spinach and steam it until it gets soft. Don’t boil it because boiling will take all wholesome elements away. Place the spinach in a bowl while still hot and add the crushed walnuts and pine nuts (could be toasted).

Blend everything well, add some minced sesame and season with salt, soy sauce or liquid aminos to improve the taste. Eat when cold dipping chips, nachos, pretzels or another preferred snack.
