Preparation time: 1.30 h.
Makes: 6 servings
Products:
- 2 pounds (1 kg) of yams or potatoes
- 1 orange
- Вј teaspoon of mace
- 1 pound (500 g) of ham
- 1-2 teaspoons of mustard
- 1 ВЅ teaspoon of milk
- 2 tablespoons of ground sesame
- salt, black pepper
Peel the yams (potatoes) and either slice them into thin slices or grate them finely. Use half of them to spread on the bottom of a round baking tray. On top, place half of the diced orange, the mace, some salt and black pepper. Order the ham as next layer and pour the mustard on.
The last layer is made of the rest of the yams and the other half of the orange. Season the dish and pour it on with the milk. Wrap the tray in cooking foil to bake in a moderately heated oven. In 40 minutes, take the foil away, sprinkle the grated or mortared sesame seeds and bake for 10-15 minutes more until the sauce has been absorbed completely.
Place the dish in a shallow plate and use some grated orange peel as garnish on top.
