Greek rice with beef

  • 3 cups of rice
  • baked or stewed beef
  • salt, black pepper
  • 2-3 onions
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 eggs

Estimated cooking time: 70 minutes

Rinse the rice and boil it in a pot with boiling salty water for 20 min.

Chop a cup and a half of beef into small pieces. The good news about this recipe is that you can use already baked or stewed beef left from a dish you have prepared before. Season with some salt, black pepper, chopped onions and olive oil. Peel the tomatoes, remove the insides and dice them into small pieces.

Use an earthenware pot to place one by one layers of beef, tomatoes, and rice until all products are ordered in the pot. Pour them on with two stirred eggs and place it in the oven. Bake it for 50 minutes.

Serve while still warm and season with parsley, and optionally garlic and oregano. Offer it with red whine, which goes pretty well with red meats.
