Italian temptation pumpkin cream
Need suggestions for this weekend’s dessert? Check out this Italian cream, for which you need:
- 3 pounds (1 ВЅ kg) pumpkin
- 1 teaspoon of fresh butter
- 2 x ВЅ cup of sugar
- ВЅ cup of black cherry liqueur or Curacao orange liqueur
- salt
Peal the pumpkin, dice it and boil it in water with 1 teaspoon of salt and a lump of fresh butter. When it’s done, strain it and mash it until still hot with half a cup of sugar.
Now you have to be extra careful: put a pot on the hot stovetop and make caramel with half a cup of sugar and a dash of water. Make sure that your caramel does not burn and while still hot pour it on top of the pumpkin puree. As a final touch, pour the black cherry liqueur or the Curacao in.
Serve in cocktail glasses, embellished with some cream, ladyfingers, cocoa, or finely ground walnuts. Enjoy it!
