Syrup of orange peels
Do you like oranges? Did you know that orange peels could be used too? Lets try and combine pleasure and usefulness… If you agree, keep on reading.
Soak 2 kilograms (2.2 pounds) of orange peels in a deep dish with 4 liters (1.06 quarts) of water. Take them out after 48 hours and grind them to get squash. Mix the squash in the water you dipped the peels in before, to get a homogenous mass. Pour it into the deep dish and put the lid on.
In 2 hours strain the squash and add 4 kg (4.4 pounds) of sugar – white or brown, it is entirely up to you – and 4 tablespoons of citric acid to the syrup. Mix the fluid until the sugar dissolves completely and then pour it into bottles.
Surprise your family and friends with this cheap, delicious and ingenious syrup. Cheers!
